We have always enjoyed travelling. Brenda first went abroad at 10 years old and spent two weeks touring the canals in Holland with the Guides and Stevie has always had a fascination with maps because his Dad travelled whilst in the Royal Navy, bringing home stamps from the places he went. Stevie would look these places up and try and imagine what they looked like from what his Dad would tell him. Our first experience, travelling abroad together, was in 1986, when we took a train journey from London to Budapest and back, staying with friends in Budapest for a couple of weeks. We wanted to travel beyond Europe so we went to North Africa for our honeymoon in 1988 and although we only made it to Tunisia, we did get to the Sahara.
We started thinking about touring for our retirement around 2002, when we had two small children and obviously needed some travel plans to which we could look forward. However, it was only when Brenda was made redundant in January 2016, that the ideas started to coalesce and in May 2016 we visited a Caravan/Motohome show to see a Eurocruiser and they said that what we wanted built was ‘do-able’. Things didn’t turn out exactly as we planned but we still try to travel as much as possible.
